Ginger Lily (Hedychium spp.)

Description:
Ginger Lily is a tropical, flowering plant known for its lush green foliage and beautifully fragrant blooms. The flowers are often white, yellow, orange, or pink and appear on tall spikes, giving the plant an elegant, exotic look. It is commonly grown as an ornamental plant both indoors (in pots) and outdoors in warm climates.

Care:

  • Light: Bright, indirect light (avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves).

  • Water: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water more during active growth.

  • Humidity: Prefers high humidity; mist occasionally or place near a humidifier.

  • Soil: Well-draining, rich soil with organic matter.

  • Temperature: Thrives in warm temperatures (18–30°C). Protect from cold drafts and frost.

  • Fertilizer: Feed every 2–3 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer.

  • Pruning: Remove spent flowers and yellowing leaves to encourage healthy growth.
