Product details

Tritonia is a small, bulb-like perennial plant best known for its graceful, star-shaped flowers and fresh, often sweet fragrance. It belongs to the iris family (Iridaceae) and is native to South Africa. Tritonia is commonly grown as an ornamental plant for containers and garden beds.

Care Guide for Tritonia

  • Light:
Bright, indirect light is ideal. Outdoors, place it where it gets morning sun and protection from harsh midday sun.

  • Water:
Water regularly during the growing season, keeping the soil lightly moist but never soggy. Reduce watering once the leaves begin to die back.

  • Soil:
Well-draining soil is essential. A sandy or loamy potting mix works best.

  • Temperature:
Prefers mild to warm temperatures (15–25°C / 60–77°F). Protect from frost.

  • Dormancy:
After flowering, Tritonia enters a dormant phase. During this time, keep the soil mostly dry until new growth appears.

  • Feeding:
Use a balanced, diluted fertilizer every 2–3 weeks during active growth.
