Sobennikoffia robusta (Schltr.) Schltr. is a species of orchid in the family Orchidaceae, subfamily Epidendroideae, tribe Vandeae, subtribe Angraecinae. It is endemic to Madagascar, where it occurs in the northwestern dry forests and woodland at elevations around 1500–1600 m above sea level.

Morphology
Sobennikoffia robusta is a terrestrial to epiphytic herbaceous orchid with a short stem that produces several coriaceous leaves arranged distichously. The leaves are loriform (strap-shaped), thick, and unequally bilobed at the apex. Mature leaves may reach 25–38 cm in length and 2.5–3.5 cm in width.
Inflorescence and Flowers
The plant produces an upright racemose inflorescence approximately 40 cm long, bearing 8–15 flowers. Flowers are resupinate, white initially, and may become yellowish with age, with free sepals and petals that tend to recurve at the tips. Individual flowers measure approximately 5 – 6 cm in diameter. A nectary spur is present on the labellum, characteristic of angraecoid orchids.
Ecology and Habitat
In the wild, this species is found in seasonally dry regions of Madagascar, growing either on tree trunks (epiphytic habit), at the bases of trees (terrestrial/semiterrestrial), or occasionally on lithic substrates. It likely experiences a pronounced dry season in its native habitat.
